TEAM CHALLENGE DETAILS:

This Run’s For Jack Team Challenge is a unique opportunity for friends, neighbors, school/club groups, and businesses to have a great time while helping a worthwhile cause.

How do we start a Team?
First, send an email to our Team Coordinator, Kathy Lawson, to let her know you will be forming a team. Then each member registers for this Run’s For Jack. The Team Captain downloads and completes the Team Challenge Roster Form. The form is either mailed by October 10th to Jack’s Fund PO Box 436, Glen Ellyn, IL  60138, or submitted on race day by 7:30 AM.

What are the ‘rules and regulations?

  • Each team must assign a Team Captain.
  • The Team captain completes the roster and registers the team by bringing the form to the team challenge desk on race day.
  • Teams have a minimum of three people.
  • All team members must be already registered for “This Run’s For Jack”.
  • Every team member must attempt to finish the 5K, this is not a relay race.
  • Participants can only compete on ONE team.

What is the cost?
Each member registers and pays individually for "This Run’s For Jack". There is no additional cost for joining a team, but you can choose to fundraise to increase your donation amount.

How will spectators know that we are a team?
That’s up to you. Each team will have a unique flavor and purpose. How that is displayed is up to each team. Some will choose a uniform, others will stick together on the course. We encourage you to show your spirit.

We would like to raise additional funds to donate to Jack’s Fund for research. What is the best way to do this?

Have your team captains set up a ‘fundraising’ page when they sign up online. All of you can circulate a link to this page via email to raise funds. Our online process makes it simple to customize your fundraising efforts. You can also collect cash and check donations. Remember, adding a fundraising component to your 5K experience is up to you!

What awards will be given?
Teams are available to compete in the following categories:

  • Team with most runners
  • Best team name
  • Fastest overall time
  • For ‘fastest overall time’, the first three runners from each team to cross the finish line will have their time added together to determine the ‘team time’. The lowest overall time is the winner.

Awards will be awarded to each member of the winning team, and will be mailed to the Team Captain who will distribute them.

Can I win an individual award in the 5K Race if I’m on a team?
Of course!
